Driver Training

Martin Chandler
Driver training may not be glamorous, but it is necessary. Last night’s training focused on ensuring our emergency responders could safely operate MFD apparatus. After all, each one has its quirks. [Referring to the apparatus, but applies to each of our volunteers as well 🙂 ] This photo features a relatively new volunteer, Martin Chandler, who recently passed the Basic Wildland Firefighter’s course. It also features our Class 6 wildland engine – 1181. This apparatus is equipped with a snow plow. MFD volunteers have needed 1181 frequently this winter on fire and ambulance calls to clear snow, so that first responders, as well as the ALERT aircraft, could access dispatch scenes.
