Of potential interest to our current and former volunteers and employees is our new presence on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a business and employment-oriented social network. Users create profiles that are for all intents and purposes interactive resumes. Some job search websites allow users to apply for jobs by connecting to their LinkedIn profiles to import their profile information. If you already have a profile on LinkedIn and you put the Marion Fire District, Marion Volunteer Fire Department, or a different version of the organization’s name, you will need to retype the name on your resume to see the Marion Fire District logo appear and then re-save your profile. As the network grows, your contemporaries can endorse you for skills you claim that may make your resume more appealing to potential employers.
