Last night, a homeowner on Round Mountain called 9-1-1 to report his house was on fire. Unfortunately, when firefighters arrived on scene, flames had fully engulfed the home. Seventeen Marion FD volunteer firefighters responded to last night’s structure fire, as well as firefighters from Smith Valley FD. Despite last night’s bitter cold temperatures, the volunteers prevented the flames from spreading; the property’s outbuildings were spared. Nobody was injured by this fire. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. MFD extends its sympathy to those affected by the loss of this home.
