Update #2 on Hubbart Dam Fire

The wildfire burning 12 miles southwest of Marion is 121.5 acres. 50 personnel are on site working on containment. No structures are threatened. Despite winds, firefighters are cautiously optimistic, because there is a dozer line around perimeter of fire zone. Crews expect to work the fire a few more days. Cooler temps and higher humidity are forecasted for this weekend, which will help fire suppression efforts. Due to water tender activity, please avoid Moore Ranch Road and area near the reservoir. Do not use drones near the fire zone, because helicopters are part of the fire attack operations. DNRC is using a sandwich board at the intersection of US-2 and Hubbard Dam Road to post a daily update about the fire.
