Update #2 on Hubbart Dam Fire

The wildfire burning 12 miles southwest of Marion is 121.5 acres. 50 personnel are on site working on containment. No structures are threatened. Despite winds, firefighters are cautiously optimistic, because there is a dozer line around perimeter of fire zone. Crews expect to work the fire a few more days. Hubbart Dam Fire

The Hubbart Dam Fire, a ten acre fire south of Marion about 1 mile east of Hubbard Reservoir, began burning in grass, brush and timber yesterday (October 6, 2020). Marion Fire is assisting DNRC. You may have seen helicopters also assisting in fire suppression efforts yesterday and today.
