The Bear Springs Fire (approximately 15 acres in size) in our fire district is located north of Gunsight Pass in the Upper Lost Prairie area on the west side of the ridge. As many of you are now aware, there were new fire starts in the area this past weekend due to a lightening storm on Friday evening (08/11/2017). Crews are actively fighting these fires. The largest fire we have close to us is the Tamarack Fire burning west of Island Lake past the wildlife refuge. Size estimates are currently around 600 acres.
