At 12:01 a.m. 08/16/2018, Stage 2 Fire Restrictions are in effect...

The fire's size is still approximately 18.5 acres and is at 90% containment. Firefighters from DNRC, Marion, and Smith Valley are still on scene doing "mop up," which involves making sure the interior area of the fire is out. Thank you Marion community for your help and support!

The Bear Springs Fire (approximately 15 acres in size) in our fire district is located north of Gunsight Pass in the Upper Lost Prairie area on the west side of the ridge.
